Meh, when it comes to gun laws, I see it as six one way, half a dozen the other. Dangerous places will stay dangerous, safe places will stay safe, one way or the other.
On the other hand, there is real problem with impulsive suicides by gun, and that does tend to relate to gun laws, since it's usually law-abiding people who do that sort of thing.
People die in car accidents, do we ban the automobile next?
if someone is wanting to commit suicide, the lack of a gun will not stop them. in fact many people go to the grand canyon every year just to jump over the side to kill themselves. you argument is a fail.
Try reading up on psychology and learn the meaning of "impulse." Ease is actually a significant factor in suicide. Many lives are saved and turned around when the way out is made more difficult.
Sounds like you think you know best when it comes determining the needs of the people.
It really is something else isn't it? I do admit I'd feel a bit paranoid if I carried concealed, but if I lived in an area that wasn't the nicest you're damn right I'd carry. When seconds count, the police are only minutes away. People forget that, they think that if someone tries to mug/rob/rape them that Sergeant O'Neill will show up out of thin air and blow the crook's brains out on the pavement, but the real world doesn't work like that.

Yep. I'd say "may issue" states that are as strict as Maryland may as well be categorized as states that don't allow concealed carry. For ****'s sake they don't let you get one unless there's already been a threat to your life.
How many people need a gun in order to get to work in the morning?
The idea that basic rights that get used more often are more important than others is very ignorant. If one person in this country is able to defend themselves with a firearm while going to work in the morning that's plenty enough to justify anyone's right to carry one. The US Constitution and our Bill of Rights isn't written in order from most to least important.
Very sad, that may be part of the reason that the murder capital is in IL and 10 of the top 100 murder rate cities are also.
Not true at all. Provide sources, and look into the meaning of "per capita."
