A high count on pre-orders of political books doesn't mean jack-squat because they are usually bought in bulk by a political action group for the express purpose of jacking up the pre-order numbers thus giving the book more press and "media buss." Those books often end up as give-aways for people subscribing to and/or donations to places like the Heritage Foundation, Americans for Prosperity, etc. It's become common practice.
