What you deem liberal intolerance (by not tolerating it I might add) is simply a person's intolerance for stupidity and irrationality. Liberals don't like backward ideas, ideas that retain the prejudices of the past or continue situations that are less than ideal. Liberals are forward thinkers, people who are open to employing new ideas to solve old problems. Conservatives have only one answer for most everything and that one answer never takes into account the inevitability of change and growth.

In general, however, I still believe the left hates IDEAS while the right genuinely hates PEOPLE. That distinction has become more obvious to me over the course of time I've been posting on these forums.

Wow. Jump to conclusions much? So now being a liberal means rejecting Jesus?

And by all definition of a social liberal, Jesus was one.

I know it is nit-picking but I don't mind paying for these services when the proper agencies are delivering them. The federal government has 18 powers and that is all. All other powers should be left to the state, county and city governments.

Education and knowledge are hardly the exclusive domains of liberals regardless of their frequent attempts to claim a monopoly on education.

Well, oddly enough, it's nice to hear that!

Because, recently, I've been called an "elitist" and "tree-huggerl" simply for mentioning my profession and the profession of my SO on these very forums.

Hopefully the smart, the, dare I say it?, elite? and educated conservatives will soon regain control of their party.
