I liked Hello, Bistro in Oakland until they took avocado off their "big salad." Now it's just another big salad.

Here's Millcraft's idea of high class branding.

Killer.

I expect Millcraft to get a bit less consideration for high-profile projects once Luke Ravenstahl is no longer mayor.

With all that said, if McDonald's can be downtown, then why not Noodles & Company?

its not about being allowed downtown but being ON market sq. millcrafts lessees are better suited for a food court than a premiere address. noodles is mediocre. for msq i might consider a chain like han dynasty or shack burger but the square needs high quality places not food court placea that have zero abikity to draw people outside of lunch hour. millcraft seems to not understand this. (even their hotel flag is medicore for such a prime spot). its not surprising its all political connections.

although I find the bus loop idea somewhat troubling (what downtown needs is better off peak service to some of the more populated neighborhoods imo) he does have some interesting goals

He would prefer improving mass transit and using smart technology such as cell phone apps to help people find spaces in garages or to extend their time on street meters, rather than build more garage space...Mr. Wagner criticized the councilman for voting against $18 million in tax increment financing for the Three PNC Plaza office, residential and hotel project in 2006, saying the development was a "catalyst to make things happen" Downtown. Mr. Peduto has defended the vote, noting that PNC Financial Services Group had received a $30 million state grant to help finance the construction, a subsidy he supported, and that he didn't think there was a need for more...Mr. Peduto reiterated that he wanted the Steelers and the Pirates to follow the letter of the option agreement for development of the North Shore land and to pay fair market value for any property they take down for construction...He would like to see as many as 20,000 new units created over the next 10 years in what he calls the "Golden Quadrangle" -- Downtown, the Strip District, the North Shore and the South Shore...He called the parking lots on the east side of Station Square "some of the most underutilized" land in America, adding that they are a prime spot for apartments or condos. He said the same applies to land between Heinz Field and PNC Park on the North Shore.

I'd love to see it redeveloped even if only into a building the size of il pizzaiola next door. the only thing worse than having a burrito place that doesn't attract people to market sq (at least at night) is having two of them.
