I don't know if this is the official name, but these mountains, which are part of the Alaska Range, are called "Rainbow Mountains" by a lot of people. If you ever visit the interior of Alaska and travel the Richardson Highway from delta Junction to Summit Lake, the road meanders at the base of these mountains and the Delta River. The light color green on the foliage happens during the Spring, then turns dark as summer advances. Today the temperature in this area was around 86 degrees, and the high temperatures in turn melt the snow turning the water murky.
By the way, i will post several of these photos at the Fairbanks and Alaska forums in the near future. I have been slacking off for awhile now
