I try to post in a variety of threads. From my understanding, in an Assignment thread, you are allowed to post one picture, and in non-assignment threads, you can post as many as you want as long as they pertain to the subject and stay within guidelines. Is that correct?
Per the new rules, we can now have up to two posts in assignment threads, and multiple pictures per post are okay.
You're correct about the non-assignment threads (unless the OP has its own set of rules).
While we have other assignment threads going, our new assignment is up and running: The Light Challenge. Let us thank bibit for coming up with the idea, sharing with me a few weeks ago. If you have an idea for a future assignment, please DM me.
The new assignment is open ended to allow for creativity in a variety of situations, around challenging lighting conditions.
Assignment #35: Abandoned. It could a vehicle, a pump, a factory, a house or anything that you feel has been abandoned.
No change to the general rules, and they're mentioned in the OP of the assignment thread.
I'm considering lower frequency of creating assignment threads for now, may be one every 10-15 days instead of keeping it weekly. If you would prefer to keep it weekly, please let me know, and ideas for assignment are always welcome.

It wasn't taken in RAW, and no editing done to the background either. The only post-processing involved was cropping to have comparable size of the subject in both shots, no color adjustments. The focus of the effect was actually on the subject (rose) itself, to get it the true colors. The darkened background is due to small aperture (f/11) and fast shutter (1/2000s) with the flower now lit by flash.
Now that the rose is slightly under shade, I will try to get an in-between shot, may be tomorrow, which maintains some of the background as well (there is some visible background in uncropped pictures, just not around the rose).
I had the perfect shot for the Abandoned thread. An old mill(or something) that was sitting along the bike trail I ride on. I went there on Friday to find it had been torn down.
Our latest assignment is a departure from the past. This is about learning from each other as opposed to just posting pictures. We will post pictures (maximum two posts with pictures), and provide positive and negative feedback. You could provide a critique of your own image as well. There is no limit to number of discussion posts within the thread.
