This thread is outdated, can it unsticky-ed? There has been no assignment discussions in many months.

Maybe change it back to Index to Photography forum threads ?

Do not turn the PHOTOGRAPHY forum into a REP FUELING forum.

You can use the REPPING SYSTEM to compliment or comment each poster. There is no need to publicized your REP acknowledgments. You can thank the person by using the REP SYSTEM, write on their profile messages board or send a private direct message. I've been cleaning up threads all morning.

I'm thinking about reviving the "Assignment" threads. Please share if you have ideas. I will also try to come up with something by Thursday (and that should give us all the weekend to get started).

Our new assignments will begin on the 15th and 30th of each month and will not close. Assignments will remain open so new people to the forum can add to them.

Couldn't rep you yet but wanted to let you know that I love your assignment topic, and thank you for including that link. That way, we know what we're going for.

Now, if only the lens that I ordered would not come 2 weeks later than the body, I'd be in great shape! What good is a body, filters, a hood and a camera bag without a lens!

It gives you time to run through all the menus and figure out what all the buttons, bells, and whistles do without feeling you should be out taking photos. I know if I had taken some time to REALLY look through the manual with the camera body right in my lap to "play" with as I was reading, it would have much better when I went out to shoot some pixels.

In Scott Kelby's The Digital Photography Book Volume 1 he has a nice short section on silhouettes. (I keep a lot of photography books on my Kindle so I can reference them anywhere if I want to.)
