I don't know if I would agree that it's perfection, but that IS a gorgeous photo, EG. The backlighting on the petals is exquisite. It's just a personal opinion, but I find seeing that strip of green on the left detracts from what would otherwise be close to perfection. Without that strip of green, I could see this being a cool poster.

I actually missed that as my focus was entirely on the flower. Is there any way you can clone that out, EG? PhotogGal makes a good point.

Thanks, I was surprised it turned out (considering my camera woes!) and was really happy with how soft it looked! We'll see what I can do with the Nikon D90 & macro lens I'm renting this weekend! Haven't seen too many flowers in this part of Arkansas yet, but I've got my eyes peeled!
Thanks all! Since I try to keep photo editing to a minimum in regular threads, my amateurish attempts at tweaking that sunflower image is now in the Photo Art thread. Here're the modified versions. The first involves simple cloning out using photoshop clone tool, and the second uses it as a base to replace the backdrop to black.

Now I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!! I prefer the first one over the black background. It's more aesthetically pleasing to my eye, if you will.
