Brian - go ahead and post up what you've got. We all learn from each other around here, and everyone has to start somewhere. I've found that posting on here encourages me to seek out different photo ideas, and I've seen photos from many others that gave me great ideas for something new to try. I think everyone starts out with a "regular" camera, but you'd be surprised what can be done even with the most basic ones - it's really about the photographer and the learning process. I don't know what you're shooting with, but there may be settings that you haven't tried that can expand the capabilities of the camera and let you capture the shot that you want.
