^ Where specifically at Sky Harbor are those pics from? When I was a young private pilot it was possible to get some good shots from the ramp on the north side of the airport where I flew a 172 and 152, off Airlane at the CAP ramp, or at 40th Street at the river bottom, and at 24th and Mohave. It's all different now.
They were taken at 40th St from the south side. Just drive north on 40th St from University. Park at the end of the road. There's a new rest/observation area there. It's almost directly across from the tower.

I see it on Google Maps. Way back when 40th bent around the runways at the river bottom, and aircraft landing on 26L to the west would fly overhead at around 100-200 feet. This was when Terminal 3 was brand new, Terminal 1 was still there and there were only two runways. They lengthened 26L which is now 25R in the mid 80s.
