I didn't see any replies to my original post about where our house is located, but we did buy it and we've been here more than a week now and really loving it. We've already met most of our neighbors on our street and they are all pretty cool, decent people. There are some areas of AJ not too far away that I don't think I would want to live in, but I'm impressed by some of the newer shops and restaurants (as well as a couple of older places we've visited) nearby. Love the views, always loved the desert ....I lived in the Phoenix area from 1977-86 and finally got back to AZ! : )

I'm moving out in September and have been targetting AJ as well. Can't back it up with any experience, I just feel drawn to the east valley for some reason. Love the Superstition viewz and the lakes close by. This is a great thread fhat I wil continue to follow and contribute to if I wind up buying a home there. This is kind of dumb to most folks I guess but moving out to wild west Arizona from the liberal east of Maryland...I'd love to have a super cool address like "Apache Junction" hahaha . I don't knkw what the neighborhood is like but theres even a Tomahawk Road. How cool would that be for friends and associates to write on an envelope?

Tomahawk Road
Apache Junction, AZ!!!

There's other streets with cool names but that one is just badass

I'm the original poster of this thread from over 3 years ago and I've lived on the Apache Junction/Mesa border for over two years now and all I can say is that I found the right place for me. I lucked out. I found the perfect house for an incredible price in the perfect location. Others might not like what I ended up with but I'm VERY happy. I couldn't have planned things better and yes, there are a lot of cool street names around here. Apache Trail is the main drag through town. Superstition Blvd., Old West Highway, Lost Dutchman Rd. just to name a few.
