How is this area? Is it a nice area? I'm skeptical because the cost is lower then others about 5 miles away from it. Let me know, thanks!!

Five miles makes a big difference in Phoenix as it does in any city. Go 5 miles from there and you'll find everything from mobile homes to upper middle/upper class housing. That area is perfectly fine. Used to live near there myself.

There's nothing wrong with that area. As Bondurant says, comparing it to a place five miles away doesn't mean much.

That's a good area, nothing to worry about and fairly centrally located.

Im not sure what youre looking for, but as far as "lower then others about 5 miles away from it"; Ill bet theres over 100 apt complexes within 5 miles of that location, and most of em are less. Thats a nice area there, everything for the most part immediately; south, east, and west of there is good. Theres either the mountain and homes for most of those 3 sides. Bell road is to the North by a block, with plenty going on all the time, and its probably the only possible "not too nice" area but theres nothing bad or wrong with it. As with most areas of Phoenix, you dont need to go 5 miles to get a change of quality. It can usually be done in a few blocks.

PS. If you dont care about sirens at all times of the day and night, then youll be good. If that may bother you, theres a fire station AT THAT CORNER. I'm a mile from there off bell road, I hear sirens going late at night from roughly 9-midnight at least every other night.

I was looking at these apartments online as well. If you check them out, let me know what you think.

How is the Baseline/Hardy area now? I lived at the then La Contenta & that probably was the happiest time in my life. We used to get groceries at the Food City, eat pizza at the chicago pizzeria at the opposite end, rent vhs movies at the blockbuster across the street, get snacks at the walgreens, & feed the ducks at park down baseline a bit.

How is the living at the Villagio now?

Tempe or Phoenix in general was, in 1991, one helluva good place to live.

I definitely don't need sirens going off all the time with a 5 month old and two year old haha! I actually yelped this apartment complex and the reviews were horrid!! Sounded a lot like the place we live in now... Burglaries, bad management, bad maintenance, inside of apt falling apart etc I found another great place with excellent reviews called trillium at deer valley! 20425 north 7th street 85024

I live in the area Hardy and US60 Food City is still there although back in 91 it would of been and ABCO. Barro's moved down the street Mill/Baseline although there is better pizza in the area Venezia's, Red Devil. Blockbuster went under last year and that space is vacant. Walgreens is still area. It's still a nice active area, and you can still go feed the ducks at Kawanis park.
