I hear you, JK. It's just the way people from Illinois are. They have to be among the most unadapting people on the planet. The Cubs, the Bears, the pizza. They can't shake it. Every other sentence they utter starts with "In Chicago.." or "In Illinois.." or "Back home.." Growing up in Wisconsin, we even had a special name for them. It started with an "F".

It's like saying what is the best kind of disease to have. Knife and fork pizza, bleh. Although my friend in Chicago (former roommate in college) swears by Oreganos'. The one with like 7 layers of pepperoni and cheese. Not for me.

NYC bagels are ok, but not necessarily so fantastic either. The truth is that Montreal bagels that most NYers don't know about are considered better by many.
I didn't make a single remark about NY pizza being the best or NY bagels being fantastic. My remarks were related to what the OP was trying to find "real" Chicago pizza in Phoenix.

In any event, everyone's taste is different. And everyone has an opinion.

There really is no reason to get so defensive about it. And certainly no reason to be rude, either.

Jimmie's Chicago is good. Went there last night for the first time. I think, however, the o.p. is looking for Chicago style deep dish as opposed to thin offered at Jimmie's.
