Hi all, can you recommend a good car rental service at PHL airport? I have hertz no.1 club gold membership, however when I check on their website, there is only very few car choices.

One thing to remember is that you can sometimes save as much as 50% on the daily Hertz rate for cars by taking the train from the airport, getting off at the 30th Street Amtrak station in Center City (20 minute ride - about $12 round trip) and renting there. You also have far less hassle picking up/returning the car. I think the trains run every 30 minutes in each direction from 4 airport stations - but stop running around midnight from the airport and 11:30PM to the airport. If you check the Hertz web site, type in "Philadelphia" and select Amtrak from the list. Every major (and many not-so major) car rental outfits serve the airport. BTW, Avis likely has a bigger selection of cars at the airport location than Hertz, but just like hertz, may not have availability for your dates.

But if you want a certain type of car the airport will always have a bigger selection. They will try to give you the next key in the drawer so you have to insist if there is somthing you really want and you can see it on the lot.
