Fantastic news! A second full-line, upscale department store would be quite a coup for Center City, and especially for Market East. Whether it settles into the revamped Gallery or the new "East Market" development, it would an incredible shot in the arm to that area.

Wow. If this is true it will be nothing short of revolutionary for that space.

Alot of Negadelphians had already mentioned that this is not attainable. Or some even said that best scenario is that we will only get Bloomingdales outlet (which sucks just like Nordstorm Rack).
But I have high hope that this will be realized.
Atlantic Building or Lit Brothers building are two of the top buildings I think will be suitable for Bloomies.
Let East Market has other awesome goodies.

^^^ I found this to be an interesting statistic from this article:

Before 2000, Gillen said, “we sold five or 10 dwellings a year at prices of $1 million or more. And absolutely nobody was building new units at all, much less new units for millionaires.”

“We are now averaging nearly 100 sales of million-dollar homes and condos a year, only 15 years since we had practically none,” he said. “That is remarkable progress.”

I feel like these numbers are a bit exaggerated.
