There's a fair amount of retail a few blocks away. Well, yes, it's northbound, across the Parkway. And Trader Jones is kinda right next to this project....walkable in a few minutes.

I think a standard super market is needed. Giant, Acme, Shop Rite, etc.

I know its a poor comparison, but there is a super market in Manhattan at least every 10 streets, in addition to all the little corner stores. Philadelphia seems so void of all that whenever I visit now.

Given some of the new residential building going on, much of which is still a year or two out, some of those amenity needs will follow but it will take time.

NYC is on such another level.

It's a big improvement, imo.

This is great news. A great start to the mayor's initiative of rebuilding public buildings.

Big news on the labor front: Gov. Wolf pledges $300 million to revitalize the Philadelphia port, add cranes and warehouses for cargoes and autos

Quote:
Gov. Wolf announced Tuesday a $300 million capital investment to existing terminals and operations at the Philadelphia port aimed at doubling container cargo capacity and creating about 2,000 more direct port jobs.

Maybe people living there have seen a lot, but wow! I didn't realize this much was going on here!

Renovations to the Bulletin Building are supposed to get underway soon, and the transformation of the parking lot in front of it into a park as well.

And the Firestone on Drexels campus closed a few months ago, that will be torn down and replaced with a new student building. That is the missing link on Drexels campus IMO.
