And I agree, he has sat on an eyesore because he didn't get the funding he wanted, so either suck it up and build it or sell the land to another developer who isn't looking for as big of a handout.

I hope he focuses on this project, and then begin demo of the parking garage when construction of project 2 is feasible, but not before.
It may actually be a qualified construction worker problem in that there may be a shortage of people they need. I know for a fact that good carpenters are in short supply right now.

About Dranoff it is sad in a way because he certainly has been a visionary.

If only the construction trades unions had not so stubbornly resisted bringing more minorities into the pipeline over these many decades....

Unless the guy who's doing Ori's blog now has info about what the once-and-future Du Pont plans to do that hasn't leaked out to the public yet.

(Today is the day that the merger of the Dow Chemical Company and E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Company undoes itself. DowDuPont, created a year and a half ago, announced in mid-March that it will split itself up into three companies; Dow Chemical resumes its separate existence today. Du Pont gets resurrected today as well, and the third company, to be called Corteva, will be formed by June.)
