I'm posting for a friend. She has been searching for William Francis Wolter, formerly of Maryland, and before that, probably New York. She has been able to track down a William F. Wolter that lived in Maryland, and also in Venice, FL. The trail ends. A phone call to the last known address in Venice, FL resulted in news from the current owner that Mr. Wolter had passed away "a long time ago."

In searching ancestry.com, we found a William F. Wolter, dob 9 DEC 1946 had passed away in Sarasota, FL on 30 June 1998.

There is no reference to him in the SSDI. She would like to find members of his family if possible. A copy of the obituary might have it, but we can't find an obit.

Anyone have any ideas?? And, why would he not be showing up in the SSDI? Because he wasn't of retirement age when he passed on?

Hi Roberta
If no one reported him to the SSDI than you won't find anything. I've seen this before. I think I found a relative. I'll send you a DM with that info.

Hopefully MrBill has found the family member you need to connect.

The SSDI can be puzzling at times. I need a date and the SSDI only shows the month. The index has also been found to have errors.
