My son is less than 20 days old and his look changes several times a day. He always looks cute but sometimes his skin complexion changes or something about him just looks different.

Is there a peak age for baby cuteness? What is the time line for this?

There is never a peak. Every stage is cuter than the next. Enjoy every minute of it, it goes by quickly!!

I would say there is sometimes an awkward stage. I had my first baby's professional photo taken at 5 weeks and he was looking his worst. His newborn hair was starting to fall out and his other hair wasn't growing in yet. He looked much better a week or 2 earlier and a week or 2 later. I think about 6-9 months is a really cute stage, personality wise.

9 mos has always been the magic age for baby photos for my kids, except for the one where 9 mos was the "dead" of winter and she had bright red cheeks from dry skin/eczema in every picture.

He still has some peach fuzz hair on his back. He has no eye brows.

Has anyone had a newborn with little blood vessle looking veins on his eye lids and cheeks?

9 months were the best baby pics for mine too. I think it is partly because they can sit up on their own and don't have to be propped up.

I think some odd skin coloring is not unusual. It gets better. I've seen some babies who were pretty homely at first turn out to be just gorgeous around 6 or 9 months.

You can see blue blood vessles on babies who have a porcelain skin tone.

Yes - they are "breathtaking" (Seinfeld reference here) when they are newborns. One of mine was 5-8 at birth and down to 5 lbs a week later and then barely back up to about 5-10 between 2-3 wks. He was nothing but muscle, skin, and bones. And bright red/orange from the jaundice. And then of course the "baby acne" sets in and it looks worse in pictures than in person. Poor kid looked like a little old man for the longest time.

yes, I had a similar experience. 5 lbs 13 oz to start. Very scrawny, a little orange, and the baby acne. But he turned into the cutest baby ever!
