I know this is the parenting forum, but where else can I announce to everyone that I am finally totally and officially an aunt?
Around 1:30 this morning, my sister gave herself a mother's day gift of a daughter. Her name is Allison (though I don't know yet how it will be spelled). My sister is my only sibling, we're both in our 30s, this is her first child, and I will never have children, so this is huge for me. HUGE. Unfortunately, I'm here in Oklahoma and EVERYONE else is in New Mexico with my sister and her husband and MY niece and I won't get to meet the newest member of my family until....well, I don't know. But, I'll get pictures sent to me sometime this afternoon. Am so glad I managed to get the baby blanket I was knitting finished in time even if a 5 foot by 4 foot blanket is a bit big for a 7 pound baby.
