It is from six to seven PM in the school. Do I need to bring in any food or drinks? Is it kind of a party? I don't know anything about this so please help!

Thanks a lot everyone.

We have no idea how your preschool or daycare runs things.
Can you call another mom who has a child there?

Thanks for replying. My son only stayed for two months before summer vacation starts and I have not yet known any mom yet. I don't know what people generally do.

If it's the pre-school version of a back-to-school night, you enter, take one of the teeny chairs in the room, and listen to the teacher's spiel. No food, no drinks. Tonight is not the time to discuss your child, it's for the teacher to talk about the upcoming school year. She may, however, ask for questions. They should be general, not child specific.

It's a super low key time to familiarize your child with the classroom and teacher. There may or may not be a presentation by the teacher.

I agree.

Just relax and have fun learning more about the upcoming school year.

That is up to the school. In our experience, no, but since your child is special needs, what was the norm for us may not apply.

Different schools have different standards, but usually children are welcomed unless there is a different *meet the teacher* day for them.
