Both of my daughters have received this, and my pediatrician and I were in complete agreement that they would be the better for getting it.

I will also be talking to my children about sex, and that they should wait until marriage (I'm not stupid; the chances of that coming true are small, but not impossible!). I will be open about condoms, and to tell them, first and foremost, protect themselves!!

The better we inform our children, the better off they will be!

Here's a link to an article I found posted on the National Cervical Cancer and HPV Coalition Support Community website, I think it was originally from Yahoo's home page:

And here are some responses to the article:

I do not understand why you would not want your child to have a vaccine that could potentially prevent a type of cancer.

This does not signal a "GO" to have sex. There are many other sorts of STD's that this doesn't prevent.

I however do not like the idea of States mandating that you must have a vaccine like this.

HPV is linked to cancer. If you can prevent HPV then you can prevent that type of cancer from occuring as a result of HPV.

In February, 2007, 82 reports of adverse reactions to the Gardasil vaccine. In June, there were 1,600 reports and now, by mid-July, the number of reported reactions has risen to 2,207. The breakdown of those stats is even worse than the total number:
  • 31 were considered life threatening;
  • 1385 required emergency room visits; 451 had not recovered;
  • 51 females were disabled;
  • 5 girls--ages 12, 15, 19 and two unknown--had died.
Well, so far for better off with side effects (This List above was from 07). I also checked out other Sites who have listed more deaths. And more than 26 Women who have misscarried AFTER they gotten the Shots. Sorry I lost the site/Link but I am sure you can google it. It still doesnt sound like they researched ENOUGH.
Also go there and read up on the Merck getting a WARNING Letter this YEAR

Thymerisol IS still used in vaccines! The only flu shot without the thymerisol is the vaccine for ages 3 and under.
