Sleep Sacks are wonderful, the snap n go is the greatest thing ever invented and I loved the shopping cart cover. The floppy seat is for carts and restaurant high chairs. One that no one has mentioned yet is the Bundle Me for the infant car seat. Then you don't have to worry about coats or snow suits for them. A great gift for new parents is The Happiest Baby on the Block DVD. They won't have time for the book so that's a waste.

Tummy time mats are completely useless.

These are also on my top 10 list. We used (and use) sleep sacks from 3 months-2.5 years!

Yes on the Bundle Me if baby is 6 mos or younger during winter. Loved ours.

HBOB DVD is a must have.

Our baby swing. We went through 4 of them before we found the perfect one to calm our colicky son. It was the best thing we ever owned.

My DD is 3 months now. And I have to say these two things have been a godsend for me and wife:
A play gym the baby can lay under, and vibrating seat or swing (with music).

Both entertain the baby and offer parents a little bit of "hands free" time to get things done and move around.

Another newborn thing I can think of is Antacid, or my preference GRIPE water.

For those really bad fussy times, It soothes a babies tummy aches and gas problems which equals quieter, happy baby.

Ha-ha! I was going to post "wipe warmer!". It made such a difference for my little guy, to not have the shock of a cold wipe on his bottom. I kind of rolled my eyes when I first got it, but it helped changing time a lot.

My BIL got us a year's diaper service - now THAT was a valuable gift! I knew we were going to use cloth diapers; the service was a luxury, but one I appreciated so, so much.

Pak N Play. I go a lot of places, travel, various homes, hotels, camping, beach, park, pool...and with the pack N Play, you put the baby in there with a few toys, you don't hav e to hold the baby all the time, baby can take a nap, without Grandma's dog running around on the baby. That is the best thing ever. You can set it up outside when you are doing yard work...
