I've met a lot of wonderful people over the years. Really, the bad ones are few and far between. Unfortunately, they are often the loudest people and the ones you remember. I do have a blog I've been writing for years now about living with AIDS. It's in my contact info

God bless you, JennyMom. Take your meds and be well!

And, please, join us here in "chat" more often. We're usually a lot more fun.

Hopes, I am so, so sorry. A little piece of my heart just broke off.

Wow, just wow. I can't believe that thread is for real. Just can't believe anyone would be so vile to their own child. Hopefully it gets locked because no good will come of it.

Hopes, I didn't see this post at first. I can't even begin to imagine. I can't express how unbelievably sad I feel for you and your family. I think Dew said it best.

Your sister is my definition of a true hero. I hope she's at peace.

Thanks for your kind words everyone. We're very proud of her courage. It happened many years ago. But reading trash like that OP wrote really makes me angry.

Hopes - I am so sorry about your sister. That is truly horrible.

I don't understand hate. I just really don't. I really really hope that thread is a "T".....it disgusts me.

DS is home from FL - had a great time. They played against some snooty schools and brought home some funny stories - one team was talking smack to them at the pool before the game - mocking Colorado - didn't know they had lacrosse in CO...etc....Until our team creamed them. Big time. I will say while we have a very good team this year, the change in altitude benefitted us. DS said it was amazing to be able to run so easily. I looked up one of the schools they played. Somewhere in CT. Tuition for pre Kindergarten? $28K. Snacks were extra. Seriously. Who pays $28K for preK.? And they can't throw in a few goldfish crackers for that?

It's probably some unschooling advanced mathematics and reading child-led-boobie-snacking psychoanalytic aura-reading liberal Martha-Stewart-Boinking yoga pre-school in Greenwich. You know the type. They don't DO goldfish crackers. They do organically grown faux-gras pate with sea foam and brussels sprout garniche.

Edited to add: Oh yeah - in a savory delicate alcohol-free champagne reduction.
