I've had a million black cats cross my path, and I have broken mirrors and walked under ladders. Not sure if it did/didn't affect my luck.
However, we were supposed to close on a new house today and I am a teeny bit relieved that it has been delayed a week. We had enough bad luck in '06 and do not need to push it for this year.
I am not superstitious at all, ever. I know that God is control of everything that happens in my life so I have no need to fear any kind of superstitious sayings.
As far as Friday the 13....this is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it!
What is the part about leaving hats on beds.......
Supposed to mean a death in the family. My mom would absolutely freak flipping out if my brothers left their ball caps on their beds! And that, belive it or not, isn't the weirdest. If you leave the house and have to go back in for something you forgot, you must turn around 3 times & spit on the floor. How about dropping silverware? If you drop a fork, a woman is going to visit, a knife - a man and a spoon, a child.
I'm not superstitious at all. God has everything under control and being superstitious to me is just a waste of time and energy. I'll throw a hat on a bed, walk under a ladder, continue walking down the path crossed by a black cat (got one keeping my right thigh warm at the moment ), and will step on cracks from here to tomorrow.
If something happens to me, oh well. I know where I'm going.
