When you are driving down a country road or walking through the woods or a field, or maybe when you're just standing and looking out a window, and you see an animal or a bird that falls into the "game" catagory; what is the first thing that comes to mind. ( you know, like a squirrel, rabbit, deer, duck, dove......) Do you think cute critter or meat on the table. I'm sorry but I see chow Maybe it's from a rural upbringing where game and fish were an important part of life. It could also be this pleasant time in my life I like to remember. Either way I aim imaginary guns and rub my tummy alot....crazy ain't it. I don't even have time to hunt anymore but I wouldn't have any difficulty reverting. I occasionally get that shiny glazed look in my eyes and I weave at a squirrel; but I always veer and tell myself I don't have time to clean him Anyone else out there like this
It's the wild turkeys and hogs around my parts that make me think BBQ and deep fryer. Every time I see the ocean I think fish fry. Wild hogs are encroaching into town now I think. Saw one as road pizza inside the city limits a while back. Anyone who has never seen the damage that wild hogs can do would not believe it unless seen with their own eyes. I think those critters could root up an oak tree.

I've never ate any of those animals so, no. But even if I see a chicken or a pig, I don't think of food. I know it's a source of food but it's not like some cartoon where you see a bubble over the cats head as he thinks of the bird all roasted and ready to eat.
I imagine if I were literally starving and needed to kill my own food in order to survive I would certainly be looking at animals and picturing them as meat, ready to eat. But I am not that desperate and therefore I don't vividly picture them as food, even though in general I acknowledge they can be.
No No No!!! When I see a critter I'm thinking it's a potential pet. I'll act like a complete fool talking to whatever it is - usually birds - and trying to feed them so they will come closer.
