I was scared of my bedroom wallpaper. It had images of Davy Crockett, and animals like buffalo's. When I was in bed at dusk, I could swear the animals moved slightly.
Talking of bedroom wallpaper,( although not strictly relevant to this thread), I recall watching a horror film called "The Haunting" (1963), and there was one terrifying scene of a dimly lit bedroom with patterned wallpaper. And if you looked hard enough based on the shadows cast from the moonlight, you could just about make out really creepy faces within that wallpaper!
I was in my teens when I saw that film, and it creeped me out for weeks. And even now it still makes me nervous just thinking about it - which is one reason why I prefer neutral painted walls rather than patterned wallpaper ones in my bedrooms.
Cold cellar in the ground where our harvest was stored.Mother asked me occasionally to get some potatoes, turnips, carrots or beets.
Another one was moving curtains in summer when my bedroom window was open.Always thought someone is standing behind the long curtains.Sometimes the curtains casted a shadow on the wall.
Any type of doll, mannequin, wax sculpture, or statue always frightened me as a kid! Something about a lifelike object was just very unsettling to me.
Mannequins were creepy to me too. Then, I watched the Twilight Zone episode where the woman gets stuck on the mystery floor with all the other mannequins... I won't spoil the ending in case you've never seen it. But after that, you may redevelop your fear of mannequins!
My grandparents house. I would hear things and see shadows.
Years later my son would wake up each night like clockwork, screaming and crying. We were looking at pictures and he pointed to my grandfather, saying he sees him at night.
All the rides at the amusement park terrified me, except the Carousel.
