So today my husband sees a Snoopy Snow Cone machine and he declares, "I wanted this when I was a kid!" Then he proceeded to point out that it would be perfectly acceptable to purchase it for himself and not our toddler b'c it says "Ages 4 to adult". He was very happy about that.

Then I said I always wanted an Easy Bake Oven. And Mousetrap.

Apparently my Facebook friends also had those two items on their want lists when they were a kid but never got.

So we haven't done it yet but I'm sure when the time comes we probably will get that Snoopy Snow Cone Maker, Easy Bake Oven, and Mousetrap.

Were there any toys you wanted as a kid but your parents never got you but now as an adult with your own children you get them those very toys you were denied?

Rock'em Sock'em Robots. My husband always wanted them, never got them, so bought it for the boys (who had fun with it for about a day).

We bought our kids a Barbie jeep and john deer tractor power wheels. Hubby and I wanted the original power wheels way back when. I think that was before they were called power wheels. The kids played with those until they were too big to fit in them anymore. Hubby said the legos that are out today are way better then the 80s. Better selection, lol.

Not necessarily something I wanted back then, but something I see and think I would love to have if I were still a child today!

You mean as a kid? 'Cuz no money

As an adult - well what's a grown man gonna do with a snowcone maker? Play with it everyday? I supposed that's why him and I are opposites when it comes to this kind of stuff and he's the "fun" parent while I'm the "disciplinarian"!

That's the fun part of being a parent -- you get to play with your kids and those toys you either had or wanted. If you're a parent, it's perfectly fine to be be making snow cones and putting legos together. If you aren't a parent and don't have kids to play with, you're going to look a little weird.

What if you liked Legos before and now that you have a kid, you have to fight with your kid to keep away from "your" Legos even though she has her own but really likes her Daddy's Legos? Not that that's ever happened to us before.
