Mornin' all!

It was a cold, cold Halloween. The kids came to the door in costumes with coats, and were rewarded for their determination with sweet treats. I love seeing the what the kids are wearing every year. Some costumes are quite creative.

As the holiday season is ushered in, I’m thinking about how to tidy, organize, and decorate for the gatherings to come. So, today’s theme is “around the house.”

Today's Question(s):
Do you like to keep things (any kind of things; pencils, candies, etc.) handy and easily accessible for times when you need/want them, or do you keep things at a distance so they are out of sight, out of mind? Give us an example if you like.

Bonus Question(s):
When decorating, do you prefer to have symmetry, or do you like to “balance” with asymmetry?

Just for fun:
Do you have a clock you can see if you wake up in the middle of the night?
Do you keep a glass of water at your bedside?
Do you keep a flashlight nearby in case the electricity goes out in the night?
Where do you stash extra rolls of toilet paper?
Do you keep a phone close at hand?
Do you own a whisk?
Do you own a magnifying glass?
Do you have throw pillows?
Do you know where your keys are right now?

Cool and rainy here too... Didn't see any kids on the streets. Some of the outdoor parties were cancelled.

As the holiday season is ushered in, I’m thinking about how to tidy, organize, and decorate for the gatherings to come. So, today’s theme is “around the house.”

Yes. I keep a pad and pen in various locations, even in the bathroom

Bonus Question(s):
When decorating, do you prefer to have symmetry, or do you like to “balance” with asymmetry?

Depends what is pleasing my eyes at the time.

Just for fun:
Do you have a clock you can see if you wake up in the middle of the night?
Yes, alarm clock, cell phone clock., but I don't wake up at night.

Do you keep a glass of water at your bedside?
Generally not, except I have cold and coughing.

Do you keep a flashlight nearby in case the electricity goes out in the night?
No. Cell phone has a flash light. I don't remember last time the light went out, though...

Where do you stash extra rolls of toilet paper?
Yes, in a bathroom cabinet.

Do you keep a phone close at hand?
Nearby, yes. Close at hand - sometimes, but I try not to.

Do you own a whisk?
Sure. I cook and bake...

Do you own a magnifying glass?
Yes, several.

Do you have throw pillows?
One on the couch.

Do you know where your keys are right now?
Yes. In my purse.

I like it both ways. I like things neat and orderly, but also mostly put away. I have a set of "drawers" in a small plastic bin that separates my pencils, pens, and highlighters. I have basket bins that keep other things orderly. I have a couple of makeup organizers that keep my makeup organized. I have my books on bookshelves that are by genre and alphabetical order. Everything has its place and a place for everything. Sometimes I can be messy though. Either or.

Bonus Question(s):
When decorating, do you prefer to have symmetry, or do you like to “balance” with asymmetry?

Depends. Sometimes I prefer one and sometimes I prefer the other.

Just for fun:

Do you keep a glass of water at your bedside? YES
Do you keep a flashlight nearby in case the electricity goes out in the night? TWO
Where do you stash extra rolls of toilet paper? On my toilet paper caddy and also under the sink and in my hall closet.
Do you keep a phone close at hand? On my nightstand or in my KAVU.
Do you own a whisk? Several
Do you own a magnifying glass? a couple
Do you have throw pillows? Yes, On my bed, my daughter's bed and on my sectional.
Do you know where your keys are right now? Yes. They are in my KAVU in one of the outside zipper compartments.

I keep "stuff" close by. Pens in particular. I do love pens.

Bonus Question(s):
When decorating, do you prefer to have symmetry, or do you like to “balance” with asymmetry? Symmetry requires near perfection. Asymmetry allows me to do my thing.

Just for fun:
Do you have a clock you can see if you wake up in the middle of the night?
Yes.
Do you keep a glass of water at your bedside?
I keep a bottle of water at my bedside. I have a cat and a glass would lead to mischief.
Do you keep a flashlight nearby in case the electricity goes out in the night?
Yes. I love flashlights and lanterns and have them all over the house. We have frequent power outages in these parts.
Where do you stash extra toilet paper rolls?
Linen closet in the bathroom.
Do you keep a phone close at hand?
Yes.
Do you own a whisk?
Yes.
Do you own a magnifying glass?
Yes. Two.
Do you have throw pillows?
Yes.
Do you know where your keys are right now?
Yes.
