How many pairs of white socks do you own?
None, believe it or not. I got rid of my last pair of white cotton socks after they gave me blisters. I do have some light gray hiking socks, though. And Mr. Bay has many pairs. What a coincidence that you should ask, because I just bought him two more pairs on Sunday. How many pairs of black socks do you own?
I'd estimate about 12 pairs that are either all black or a predominantly black pattern. Do you wear, or have you ever worn, knee-high stockings?
Yes, I have a pair of those. Nowadays I mostly wear them to bed on cold nights. Do you have any socks with fun images or bright colors on them?
A friend who knows I'm a bird lover gave me a pair with colorful tropical parrots all over them. If you get a hole in a sock, do you keep wearing it, do you repair it (darn! ), or do you throw the pair away?

When was the last time you walked in a wooded area, and where was it?
I went on a history walk last Saturday on Mount Davidson, which is the highest natural point in San Francisco and the site of a city park. The park is covered with eucalyptus, juniper and pine trees and is like an urban forest. Have you ever picked up a leaf because you found it pretty or interesting?
Yes, I've done that. Nature is amazing in its infinite beauty. Have you ever played on a swing hung from a tree branch?
Yes, once when I stayed at a mountain cabin that had one of those swings hanging from a redwood tree. It was a magical experience. Have you ever swung from a vine attached to a tree branch?
No, but when I was a little girl I used to think it was fun to swing from the low-hanging branches of the willow tree in our backyard.

I think so, but I don't remember when. I remember being disappointed that it didn't instantly change colors. Have you ever eaten an insect?
Not intentionally! Mr. Bay found a black bug in the spinach I cooked one night, but he didn't eat it.

Pairs of white socks, um, all my socks are white.
Last time I walked a wooded area was about 3 years ago, back home, camping at Point Beach, it's a camping area at Lake Michigan.
Grilled cheese or tuna, I can do both.
My favourite Subway sub is the blt with extra bacon, hold the tomato and add jalapenos.

If you get a hole in a sock, do you keep wearing it, do you repair it (darn! ), or do you throw the pair away? I always repair them at least once,something I was taught how to do by my grandmother long ago. After that I use them for cleaning jobs

When was the last time you walked in a wooded area, and where was it? A while back before all the rain started I visited a provincial park in Quebec
Have you ever picked up a leaf because you found it pretty or interesting? In autumn when the leaves fall I pick up the most colorful ones,bring them home,dry them and flatten them in a book.
Later I make personalized greeting cards using these leaves as a gift for friends and family.

[b] Have you ever swung from a vine attached to a tree branch? When I was of grade school age during the summer in the small town that I lived in; the volunteer fire department gave us kids all their old fire hoses. After carrying them for six or eight blocks to the railroad tracks where lots of trees grow; we placed them up in the trees connecting ten or so trees all together. Then for the for the rest of the summer all of the boys in town climbed in the trees and across the fire hoses to other trees while playing tag. Lots of fun if you didn’t fall out of the tree or off the fire hose.
Great story, Aks! When I was a kid and my family visited my cousins' family in Canfield, Ohio, we did something similar, though not with fire hoses. There was a wooded area behind their house and lots of vines grew among the trees. We'd cut some of the vines at the bottom, where they came out of the ground, making "Tarzan swings." We'd play for hours, swinging from tree to tree like monkeys. It's one of my favorite childhood memories.
