Where ever we go my Pookie always picks up lonely pennies lying on the ground.
They look down at the drive thru, Sidwalk, shopping store, etc.
They once was about to pick up penny out of a fountain and I said no to that since it was probably someone wish.
They now have huge jugs full of pennies I guess it will be future retirement lol.
Do you just ignore a penny laying somewhere or do you pick em up as you see them?
if they are heads up I will pick them up and keep them
The other day a friend saw one tails up she picked it up and handed it tome and said if you find one "tails up give it away fast and you both will have good luck"

I never did . After the loss of both my parents, and having a very hard time dealing, my fathers sister sent this e-mail to me. Now I have a hard time passing one up.
Remember this every time you pass that little penny in the parking
lot.
I always thought that it was for Good Luck, but I love this version
better:
I found a penny today
Just laying on the ground.
But it's not just a penny,
this little coin I've found.
Found pennies come from heaven,
that's what my Grandpa told me.
He said Angels toss them down.
Oh, how I loved that story.
He said when an Angel misses you,
they toss a penny down.
Sometimes just to cheer you up,
to make a smile out of your frown.
So, don't pass by that penny,
when you're feeling blue.
It may be a penny from heaven,
that an Angel's tossed to you.
I always pick up pennies. My grandmother told me when I was a little girl that if you find a penny, put it in your shoe and you'll have good luck. I always think of my grandma whenever I find a penny.
I always pick up pennies, face up or face down. A penny is a penny. As Rockefeller said, "Save your pennies and the dollars will take care of themselves."
We have a giant water cooler jug that we throw our coins into, then take to the bank coin counter to deposit. It is truly amazing how pocket change adds up.
I always pick up pennies. When I was a kid I learned that people often left change in pay telephones so I always checked those as well. When we went to the airport I often came away with a couple dollars in change.
I have a huge piggy bank of pennies.
I did read that it costs the US mint 2 cents to make one penney. There is talk of discontinuing them.
