Today's Sensible Questions: Which of your senses - sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch - do you wish you had to the level of an animal's and which animal(s)? I wish I had the eyesight of a bird.
Which sense would you be willing to give up for a day or so to see what it's like to live without? Hearing
What do you imagine that would be like? It would be frustrating, very hard to communicate. I'd have to carry a pad and pencil everywhere. I would also feel lost without music, which is a daily requirement for me like food, water and oxygen. Bonus: Choose one of each - 3 trips, all expenses paid to:
-California or Florida? I'll pass. I'm already in California, and I have no desire to visit Florida.
-London or Paris? London
-Sydney or Tokyo? Sydney
Tell us a souvenir or experience you'd like to have from at least one of those places: I don't care much for souvenirs, but I'd like to collect experiences. I'd like to have authentic pub food in London and visit some of the fine museums and historic sites. In Sydney, I'd like to see a performance at the opera house. -If so, did you ever use one? Yes, I remember. They used to have them in grocery stores. My dad probably used one. We have a vintage 1946 Philco radio that uses tubes, and it still works. Foodie Questions: Even if I lost my sense of taste/smell, I'd probably still eat pizza.

Sight and hearing are so very important and I'd like to have them improved however if there's only one choice I'll go with common sense Seems that I could improve a little in that area............. lol

-If so, did you ever use one? Yes, as a young teenager I would work on the tv set when it needed servicing and also I was very interested in shortwave radio and had a large tube type receiver that I used a lot over the years and a kid. I'd give up smell for a day... & be sure I bathed extra carefully! Pretty sure it would dull the taste of food.

Are there foods you don't like because of the texture? If so, how so? I know this is being picky but... while I like the top half of a bagel, I don't care for the bottom half due to the grittiness on the bottom (I understand this to be corn meal)... just feels weird on the tongue.

Today's Sensible Questions: Which of your senses - sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch - do you wish you had to the level of an animal's and which animal(s)? I wouldn't mind having the eyes of an eagle.
Which sense would you be willing to give up for a day or so to see what it's like to live without? Smell.
What do you imagine that would be like? I already know what that's like. When I was a kid, I got sick and temporarily lost my sense of smell. It wasn't fun because you lose your sense of taste along with it.

-California or Florida? Florida, since I already live in California and I haven't seen Florida in over 40 years.

-Sweetness? Mangoes (in season) or oranges.
-Vinegariness/acidity? Not really a fan.
-Other? Steak or burgers for savory flavors.
What foods do you like for texture and what is it about the texture you like? Desserts like custard, pudding and mousse can have a velvety texture that adds to their appeal.
Are there foods you don't like because of the texture? Shellfish like oysters or clams. If so, how so? They can be "slimy." Ick.

I would love the sight of an eagle (would love to fly like one, too). But.... for self-defense I wouldn't mind that unique little "gift" of a skunk.

Are there foods you don't like because of the texture? If so, how so? Celery, rubarb (I don't mind them as ingredients in SMALL doses, but biting into them is way too pungent and crunchy for me.
