Advertisements

Good morning peevers.

So we're back from Bristol and it's nice that the family are all together for a while.

Regarding yesterday's thread I bit the bullet and drove via that shopping complex, but all was fine. All in all the journey there and back was good.

I was sorting out Photobucket just now, and was aware of something flashing away on the screen. Needless to say it was a advertisment.

As you possibly know, when I watch TV and the ads come up I hit the mute button. There seem to be many ads these days that are made up of rapidly changing images. Is our attention span that short these days?

In a way today's peeve follows on from the one Mike gave us yesterday.

It is;

Distracting flashing ads.

I've borrowed someone's camera which has a wide angle lens which I needed for some work.

I have only this that I can show you at the moment, but will put up anything else I might shoot;

Glad you had a good journey Jeezer.
I avoid most ads when driving, they are generally a distraction. When we travel my co-pilot watches the ads and reports anything of interest.

Great peeve, Jezer!

@wit-nit - how do you manage to not notice them. They are EVERYWHERE, right on your face, no?

I agree with elnina...hate'em! We have a couple of those bright flashing billboards and I find them very distracting especially at night.

I just blank them out. I like to keep my eyes on the road and other traffic and listen to my e-z music on the CD player.

Gosh, I don't recall seeing flashing billboards when I'm driving. Seriously, my brain and eyes must refuse to see them.

The flashing ADs on the computer drive me to distraction. Literally.

Here's some shots I just took just now in the lovely frosty field;

I'm thinking that you would really miss the beautiful country and wildlife you can see from your windows, Jezer, if you bought the house in that village and moved.
