Good morning peevers, and a lovely one it is here.

We are off on vacation soon and as part of the ritual Mrs J and I have been working out what we would like to do, where we would like to eat and so on.

Sadly a restaurant we went to on a previous visit has closed, but it was unique in our experience in that many of the staff were taken on because they were trained singers. At suitable points in the evening they would sing arias from various operas and the atmosphere was great fun.

Have you gone back somewhere- maybe it's even near your home- to find a favourite eatery closed?

We are going to find out because the POTD is;

Oh no! It's closed!

Oh no! It's closed!

A number of weeks ago Mrs Aks and I drove forty-five minutes or so to visit a specific store on the other side of the city. They were closed! Seems they only open on Fridays and the weekend. Well, we're not going back to that store for a long time if ever. You can't be closed for business during Tue, Wed, or Thur and expect people to come ONLY on the weekend.

We had a favorite restaurant on the coast that we frequented for the last fifteen years. It became a tradition of ours to go to this particular restaurant every year. This past year we went back and it had closed - another restaurant had taken its place. It was disappointing to drive-up to the restaurant, discussing our favorite dishes, and finding another restaurant in its place. We still talk about our favorite dishes we enjoyed at that restaurant.

Alas, the world moves on.

Spoiler

We've had our share of disappointments . Parks and other entertainment venues seem to close at a moments notice. Little rainfall and they're like baseball games (fold their tents and close shop).

I remember a restaurant called Remomo's that was at Arundel Mills Mall for years. They had an awesome prime rib. During 1 visit to the mall, I found out to my shock they'd closed. I was very saddened by it. I had some really nice meals there.

a visit to Machu Picchu......I love exploring interesting place.

Good peeve Jezer.
about 10 12 years ago there was a place on Long beach island NJ that we went to visit for lunch one day only to find it had changed hands.
Even though it was a while ago, I can still remember the disappointment because they had the best crab salad I ever had at a very good price.
the place that took over was the complete opposite and expensive.

where are you going on vacation jezer? Have a good time.
