Good morning peevers.

All quiet here as I'm still on my tod (Tod Sloan, own ).

It's been musical TVs here as we've acquired that enormous TV from FIL's house. Mrs J bought a Blu-Ray player to go with it and it makes the cinema redundant! Just need a popcorn maker and we'll be selling tickets!

That TV alone is linked up to not only the Blu-Ray but also a Wii game console and a recorder. Around the house are other TVs, DVD players, Hard Drive recorders, even a video player somewhere.

These, plus other devices have remote control units, so there's loads of them, and they all have a different layout and functions and symbols on them.

Today's peeve is therefore;

The number of, and working out how to use, the plethora of remote control units in the house.

By the way, the DVD 'Yellowstone' which is a BBC natural history production is abslutely incredible shown on that new TV!

I can do one or two, but these days there seems to be a remote for everything, even lights and heaters! Im still old school in some ways, maunally do the stereo, lights and furnace. Too many remotes confusing.

Great peeve Jezer. I hate all the remotes...and they are all different. My DH has wireless headphones so I can have peace and quiet while he watches TV. Once in a awhile I will ask him to turn on the volume for me. He literally has to use the remote and go to at least 10 different screens before the volume on the TV comes on for me. If something ever happened to him....I would never hear that TV again

Two remotes work for me, and I can barely operate both. I know all that I need to know for now. Thanks for the heads up on the BBC production, Jezer.

I have to say that the Yellowstone production just blew me away.

Here's a trailer for it, which frankly does not do it justice;

If you're a gadget nut then all those remotes are fun toys. But I'm like you, I have 4 of them and sometimes they're a pain, especially if you don't put hem back in their usual place.
We used to have a remote control ceiling fan, but it drove me nuts so we changed it out to standard switch.

Ever tried pushing the remote every which way and nothing happens? Then you realise you're using the wrong remote.

LOL so true, June. What's bad (re the part I highlighted) is when I've been pushing and pointing to no avail - only to realize I'm using the wrong remote duh
