I think a lot of men are this way. My father died because he wouldn't go back in for his Doctor visits. His death could have been avoided.
My DH hates the doctor but he is a dinosaur and he believes the man is supposed to take care of his family...which is me. He goes for me....so he doesn't leave me sooner than expected
Sounds familiar!
My DH is an accident looking for a place to happen. Go to the ER for sutures? Oh,no! Duct tape to the rescue.
Check-ups? Uh,nope! As long as he's still breathing, he's good to go.
Our boys are JUST like him! And people wonder why my first aid kit is so big........

Yeah ... I had no insurance for a year but fortunately, just began a new insurance plan this month. They actually give you a 50 dollar discount on premiums if you schedule a physical within the first three months so I'll be getting mine shortly
I'll continue! For a blood test. I asked my wife what for. She said they take a blood
sample, then send it to be tested for chloresoral levels, kidney function etc. I went
to see the nurse at the doctor's surgery. I told her to stop writing to me. Why won't
you have the test David she asked. Because, I don't like needles I told her!!
It's not so much a peeve as it is to having to visit so many of them now. Everyone is a specialist today. I remember as a kid the doctor did everything including house calls. Now you have to see separate doctors for a cold, brain malfunction, sinus allergies, heart, kidneys, liver, hip, knees, feet, testicals, the list goes on and on and the bills pile up and up. And now maybe no more QOTD, sheesh, the stress keeps comming.
Reminds me of the Tom Lehrer monologue where he talked about a doctor who specialised in diseases of the rich.
Yes. Without insurance, a whole lot of us aren't able to get the medical check ups we need.
Which really sucks badSo much of good health is preventative which is the best and cheapest of health care. At least we do have that here. I really can't complain about our health care system for myself or my family, or really anyone else I know.
