We have so many deer here in northern Virginia now. It's hard to believe that 50 years ago they were almost extinct here and there was a movement to "re-introduce" them. Now they're a nuisance.
Although, they do ahve their adorable moments. A mama gave birth in our garden two years ago and that was a beautiful thing to watch. And we've seen them fall asleep outside our window, especially in the winter, and that's a pretty sight, too.
I've had my share of near misses with deer! My closest encounter was on a narrow highway between Abilene and San Angelo, Texas that I used to travel on frequently. About 12 miles southwest of Abilene there's a range of hills and mesas that the highway winds through. I was driving around a sharp curve one time at about 50mph and missed hitting a deer by a few inches at most. If I had hit that deer at that spot in that winding road it would have been a major wreck, probably a roll over!
I seriously cannot identify at all... In my neck of the woods we don't have any deers that cross the roads. However, I am sure it is a great peeve... I am happy to see new blood Caladium and a great job. Hey is Lacey not coming back?
