So is the case with Honda... Honda cars were first sold only through Honda Motorcycle franchises through the 1960's and even 1970/71.
Suzuki best market and for a time.. the only US market was Hawaii. GM also sold re-badged Suzuki's under the GEO name.
I own one of Consumer Reports worst cars of all time... a Suzuki Samurai. I've had it for many years and continue to be amazed at how rugged and dependable it is. There really isn't anything like it on the American market... true low gear transfer case with rugged frame construction in a small, go anywhere package.
I mostly use mine to move heavy trailers around the yard and to transport diesel fuel for construction equipment.

Samurai's are very much desired by a fairly large portion of the wheeling community for the very reasons that Ultrarunner states above. And, since the safety nazis forced the design change they are commanding some fairly decent prices because they are relatively rare.
Crucifixion, loved by those who understand its capabilities, Nazis, whatever. I test-drove one and it took me about 45 seconds to know that there was no way I was ever going to spend money for one. Even without the tipping issue, everything about it shouted "cheap!"
I didn't dismiss the Samurai as a POS because it wasn't for me. I dismissed it as a POS because it was a cheap, tinny, rattling POS that felt about one step above a Yugo in build quality.

You have your opinion, and a ton of wheelers have another. It is being sought after by folks that KNOW how capable it is off road.
I am speaking to the topic, Suzuki was a victim of the nanny state and morons that do not know that a short wheelbase 4x4 is not intended to handle like a sports car.
And don't bother with the PMs. They will be deleted without being read.
Then I will say it here. You have no right or cause to tell me to jog along.
And, you apparently missed the point. No surprise.
