I would choose Heathrow in Lake Mary in one of the more modest areas if possible.
If I could steer you outside that area, I would choose the Boone HS area (32801 or 32806) being very close to hospitals, good schools and beautifull older urban areas. Winter Park and/or Baldwin Park are also other great options.

You can get a lot of house in Clermont in that price range. Clermont elementary and middle schools are "A" rated. There is plenty of shopping, recreation, and a great community hospital.

I have to agree with Wilshire on Lake Mary. Great schools, tons of shopping, restaurants, movies, bowling, parks, and 2 hospitals closeby. Huntington Ridge/Point, Maderley, Woodridge, Heathrow, and plenty more.

If you need to be near a hospital for emergency health related issues you may want to take Hunter's Creek off the list. I believe Florida Hospital Sand Lake or Celebration are the nearest but they are still a distance aways through some often heavily congested streets. You may want to add Winter Park and Altamonte Springs to your list as they have well rated schools and major hospitals nearby.

My wife is a RN and my son is allergic to pretty much everything and having a hospital close by is important . I know Clermont is a lock to look at and think Lake Mary might be out of my price range from what i'm seeing , this move is to simplify my life by selling here in NY for about 350 and have 225 to work with after paying off loans . A nice size backyard for the kids to play would be nice but not sure where i can find that in CF . Thank you all for your input and you have no idea on how much this helps me on choosing the right area to live in

I agree with Annerk...you can get ALOT of house in the Clermont/Minneola area with a 300K price tag. More than likely, you could find what you want in the $175,000-$225,000 range.

I don't know if the facts on City-Data are true but it's saying there are 44 sex offenders in Clermont (10 square miles) Lake Mary shows 12 , what are the laws about sex offenders in Fla ?

Within the city limits of Clermont, there are about 15. Keep in mind that the 34711 zip code covers parts of Minneola and a lot of unincorporated Lake County. "Clermont" according to the USPS is over 30 square miles and encompasses five zip codes, so if you are searching using that term, you are pulling in a lot of people who don't actually live in Clermont.
