Hi everyone....

I just received an offer to teach at a school in St. Cloud. I live in Clermont so the commute is quite long. We are contemplating this offer as I have several others on the table as well and this one would require moving. My older son is in H.S. and this is a great concern for me. I am wondering if anyone can give me some info on good high schools. I have researched Celebration and Harmony... Any thoughts would be great.

Also is St. Cloud nice to live in?

The only High Schools in Osceola County that I would recommend are Harmony and Osceola School for the Arts. The later being the best however the student must have some skill in a fine art like music, art, acting and dancing.

Saint Cloud is a pretty nice town. A little over built for the roads but it still has that small town feel and crime is not too bad.

St. Cloud high is "C" rated. You can do better.

In my opinion Celebration is WAY WAY WAY over priced, and the HOA there has some unbelieveably inflexible rules. Celebration High School is "D" Rated--not good.

If you can find a place within the Harmony district, that would be my choice. It's "B" rated and many are saying it will make "A" next year. Good luck to you!

I have not heard of overcrowded but noticed that it has a student to teacher ratio of 20 to 1 which above the state average. However, I do not think it is a big issue at the school according to parents I have talked to.

Several folks I work with have kids at Harmony High and have really liked it. There are also apartments out there in Harmony if you don't want to buy, it is a bit off the beaten track but does make a fast commute to the beach on weekends!

I love reading these forums because at times certain parts scare me. Then I read posts like this that say things like ratio 20 to 1. The current ratio here in NJ if we are lucky is 35 to 1.

all this talk about harmony, its only nice because its new, its the same kind of kids as all of the other school. Soon it wont matter because the other highschool, saint cloud high is being remoldeled into a brand new structure. It is a good deciion to move down here because teh schools, people and life here are nice
