I prefer the nicer sections of Waterford Lakes - simply because of access and the look of the smoke stacks in Avalon.

Waterford Lakes is in a much better location and closer to shopping and dining.

I agree with the others. We settled in Eastwood because we couldn't get past looking at the power plant from the Avalon Park area. I do know people who love Avalon though so it all depends on personal preference.

Have you visited the two area's? What is your gut as to what community you'd prefer?

I prefer Waterford only because it's a little easier to get to the highways, but Avalon has some gorgeous neighborhoods (some you can see the Nuke plant from though) and the neo-urban feel.

If high school wasn't a big concern I may reccomend you also drive around the cypress springs area just to the west of Waterford.

I am corrected, I always refer to it as such just because it looks exactly like Springfield's (from the simpsons) cooling stacks.

I thought it was too until I talked to someone who works there.
