I am moving from Tampa to Orlando and will be living in the downtown area, and may have to commute to Polk and/or Osceola counties for work. I understand traffic coming into downtown is congested from all directions, but what about from downtown towards these counties?

(Not sure exactly where in these counties I would have to travel to, but just wanted to get a general idea).

Thanks for any feedback

West Bound I-4 is very congested in the afternoon. It is especially congested between downtown and the Millenia area. It will be heavily beyond that but should be moving. If you had to do that drive, I would suggest John Young or Orange Blossom Trail possibly to get to Kissimmee.

From the sounds of it you'll be going against the normal flow of traffic. I can't say for this particular stretch but my husband goes against the flow between Orlando and Sanford and says it's a breeze.

Sorry yeah, I totally misread your post!!! captnemo62 is correct, you should have no problem headed west in the morning and east after work! Sorry about that.

Sorry my explanation was unclear!...Yes, I would be going westbound in the morning, eastbound in afternoon/evening. I guess my main concern is I am worried about Disney traffic, but it sounds like it shouldn't be too bad?

Thanks for your help captnemo and wilshire
