Hello there,

Windermere is about twenty minutes from downtown Disney village and the parks. Winter Garden is the next town over and is only about five minutes further to the Disney areas.

We love this area because is is away from the tourist areas but it is still close enought to get to when you want to go and visit the parks or downtown. There are many roads in the area that will cut the commute down for your husband depending where he is going to work.

When looking at commute times, don't just look at the first route Google-maps or whatever service you use gives you. There are toll roads to be considered and I personally don't want to budget $350 bucks a year just for using those roads. So look at alternate, non-toll routes as well.

Kissimmee is inexpensive - mostly. But many of the developments there are for vacationers or long-term visitors (3 months or so). It's not some place where you'll likely put down deep roots.

Then maybe it's not the problem you seem to think it is. My guess is that your neighbors won't miss you.
