I was hoping to find something around 600$/mo, but am thinking this is not possible with the housing shortage/turning apt in condos I keep hearing and reading about. I am starting to reconsider my decision to move there. Thank you for any suggestions.
--- also have u ever been here? i would come here and see for yourself b4 making any decisions then u can decide 4 urself. dont listen to what others say, u just gotta find out for urself. just take it is a precaution to know what to expect. and the bad areas u will be able to tell right away.

My Family and I are also moving from New Jersey to Orlando, FL. Last week I was there by myself looking at apartments and I found a real nice one it's called Legends Lake Nona in 10203 fALCON PARC BLVD Orlando, FL 32832, it's a new area and the schools are very good, the High School is a brand new school called Lake nona high school and it's opening this Aug, I wish you luck with your move, my family and I will be moving July-15-2009.

I'm glad you found a good place Omar. Lake Nona should be a lot nicer than Altamonte (I believe that's where you were looking, if I remember correctly).

I hate living in apartments.
So MANY apt complexes here were built out of wood (stick built) and then slathered with stucco to look like concrete. AND have paper thin floors and walls. I know from hearing neighbors at 3am daily, and was so glad to get into a house. you might want to see if it is possible to get into a house with a roommate or 2.
OR
check the construction type and noise at any apartment you consider.
Another idea, there are SO many condos that speculators/flippers overpaid for, and many might rent them out at lower than market prices to cut their losses.
