We talking about cats, Right?

I believe in humane treatment for animals and taking a stray cat to NHS is the most humane thing I can do, considering the situation. It is legal and the NHS decides what to do with the cat. If it can be reunited with it's owner, adopted or put to sleep the NHS makes that educated desicion.
The city of Omaha and the residents believe that the NHS makes and trusts that the NHS makes the right choice.

If I sprayed a cat with water in my neighborhood, I more thant likly would get a ticket for mistreatment of animals. Plus you can never get close enough to a cat to spray it.

Remember I'll leave the gate unlocked for you to come over with a baggie..

This gets more and more interesting. Do cats not qualify as living sentient beings in your book?

"The city of Omaha and the residents believe that the NHS makes and trusts that the NHS makes the right choice."
Um...apparently not all of them. Does that mean all institutions vested with authority should be trusted simply because they know better than us? Because they make "educated decisions" but we are not capable of that? That it is not our place to ever question these institutions? If that is the case I beg you not to vote in the coming election!

All I am saying is that your actions led to the deaths of many cats. It does not matter if what you did is legal, in my book it was not moral. You turned the situation over to the humane society who took the same course of action in every case. Did you think that would ever change?

I would be more than happy to come to your house with a baggie, but this would require you to actually contact me and talk to me about it...sadly, something that I have not seen much evidence of in my neighborhood. Maybe community is only something experienced among homeowners, and not those pesky "students and renters."

Well, that is what the City Of Omaha and the Omaha Police Department said to do that is only legal cource of action I have.

I trust the NHS to do the right thing, and they do. If you have aproblem with that you need to start talking to them.

I think what this thread needs is a tension-breaker joke.
Hey Stacy, what's the difference between a dead dog lying in the road and a dead cat lying in the road?

There are skid marks in front of the dog.

Oh, come on! Admit it, you're smiling.

No, it's called following the rules and laws.

"Thanks for proving Godwin's law."

Hah! That's freaking hilarious! I had never heard of Godwins law until now. Thanks.

However at the risk of looking ridiculous I think it is an apt comparison. Eichmann is famous for alleviating himself of any responsibility for his actions because he was just doing what he was told. Apparently by this logic there can be no moral compass when you are just doing what other people tell you to.
