Still snowing hard here and finally starting to stick. I'd say we have a half inch covering on the ground now. Thought this was supposed to all be gone by noon lol.

Ended up with a little more mist last night. Tree limbs are sagging a bit but we haven't had even one break yet. Little under a 1/4 inch of ice looks like. Starting snowing steadily around 11 this morning and just wrapped up an hour ago. Looks like we had about 5 inches here. Driveway is already shoveled out. It was a real powdery snow so it only took about 20 minutes.

We survived our first experience with ice storm. Most of the trees in my Ft. Sill neighborhood were heavily damaged. Trees on my yard are almost "bald." My husband was spared twice from being hit by falling branches. First time was when he came home from work at noon and as soon as I let him in from the backdoor, a few seconds after he stepped in a big branch fell behind him. The next time, he was on his way out to remove the forgotten grill tank. He asked for prayer before venturing out. So I did ask the Almighty God to keep him safe as the trees outside were heavily covered with ice and it was so windy. Well, a huge branch fell right on top of the grill about a minute before my husband got outside the door. I am really thanking the Lord Jesus for answered prayers of protection.

I'm thinking about you all. We went through several of those awful ice storms in our 60 years in Oklahoma. As destructive as is it, that ice can create some beautiful sights. We had a Washington Hawthorne full of red berries one December and it was gorgeous with the ice all over it.

Something to give you a little laugh, in case you haven't already seen it. I'm in Washington and got it from an Okie friend who lives in Santa Fe.

SNOW…….klahoma
Where the cold front's sweepin' down the plain
And the piles of sleet, beneath your feet
Follow right behind the freezing rain.

SNOW…….klahoma
Ev'ry night my honey lamb and I
Travel home from work and hope some jerk
Doesn’t wreck our car in passing by!

We know we belong to the land
But it could use some more salt and more sand

That’s why we say…..WHOA!
We’re sliding the other way…….YIKES!

We’re only sayin’
You’re slick as snot SNOWklahoma
SNOWklahoma
SNOW-K-L-A-H-O-M-A

SNOWklahoma, SNOW-K!

More from Hooterville. It's about 22 degrees on my deck, and snow snow snow. Can't tell how much, with the wind it's an inch or so dusting in one place and a couple feet away it's closer to 8". Lots and lots of limbs and branches down - too bad I don't have a wood stove! It's going to be a mess to clean up once the snow melts. Even though it's cold, there's freezing rain falling on the snow now. At least I guess it's rain - if I stand in it, I get wet and not covered with white fluff.
