Ya, I've gotta watch what I do now. There's extra buttons that weren't there before! Watch out, or I can make you say things that you didn't really say!

Special powers; maybe I'm not ready for those yet...

OMG Synopsis, you are going to be BUSY It's getting toward the end of the week so, as usual, I'm a bit behind and haven't been to the spot where our assignments are. Actually, by the end of the week, I'm behind on EVERYTHING.

[quote=Jammie;1273211]Synopsis, those pics are beautiful!!! If anyone would like some pics moved from other areas of the forum, just PM either Jessaka or myself and we can move them on here for you.

HMMMM~not sure, but I THINK they were seagulls. We were so surprised to see the types of birds there that we saw. They had the Pelican Festival just the week before we were there, but they hadn't all migrated yet so we saw a lot of them too.

I don't know if it's as much the Lake that is so appealing. It is nice, but we just thought the little town of Grove and the whole surroundings was so neat. I think we have a few more OK pics and as soon as I find them, I'll post them here. Actually, we have several, but we're in them and I'd rather just have scenery pics and keep a bit of anonymity.

Synopsis, how do you post pics that you find like from Flickr? I tried to upload some pics from Keystone and Deadwood last night and didn't have any success.[/

Default Driving around Duncan...

I needed to get away from the house yesterday, so we went out and had Chinese Food at the new Buffet in town. I decided to take a cue from Peggy and take a few drive-by shots.

All of these pics were taken roughly 2 miles from our house in either direction. (east and west)

Starting at the Restaurant on HWY 81, just south of Elk:

Looking north:

and south:

a little fuzzy...had to be the wind and not my shaky old hands.

Going east on Elk towards the town Water Tanks:

Yep, we must be in Duncan!

Closer to the house we find Station 2, the brave firemen that guard my neighborhood!

The neighborhood park that surrounds the firehouse:

A Water/Play area there that is crawling with kids in the summertime. They have already taken down the 'tippy buckets' that fill with water and then dump on the kids:

Another 1/2-3/4 mi east on Chestnut and we have left 'town' behind:

Just to the east of "N st" there is a Chisholm Trail Historical marker:

Looking due east from the marker:

And this is the creek that was mentioned:

"Eye" see you! This rock is at the top of a rise known as "Happy Hill" still known as a favorite 'teenage hangout'.

http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h61/jimeezlady/IMG_0144.jpg (broken link)

Just beyond Happy Hill the trees make a pretty canopy:

Next time we will go North/South and see Downtown Duncan!
