Seven states add more than 100,000 private-sector jobs in past 10 years - The Business JournalsOhio was 50 out of 51 in private sector job growth Mar. 2002 to Mar 2012 with a loss of 284k jobs. Only Michigan was worse with 433k lost jobs. Even the best performing states (i.e. Utah, North Dakota) it seems the growth is anemic if you figure we are talking over ten year period. North Dakota obvious gain due to Bakken shale..

There were two recessions in that time period and the 2000s are now considered a "lost decade" when it comes to the economy. Ohio also has had one of the best and fastest recoveries since the last recession peaked and recently had the best monthly job increase of any state. I just read this morning that there is also a 7-year high on job listings in the state.

BTW, what exactly is the goal of this thread?
