Are you wanting to live in the city of Youngstown or somewhere closer to Sharon?

are you sure that you want to live in the city of yongstown? youngstown is crime-infested and has only a few cultural amenities. if you mean in the area around youngstown, there is a ring of cookie-cutter suburbs and then generic farmland beyond that. i fear that you would have roughly the same experience in any part of the suburb/rural area around youngstown that you would around sharon or farrell with the exception the politics is even more corrupt. in the city, you would be able to experience more drug violence and less shopping.

keep in mind that most of the advice that you can expect to get on this forum is boosterism that speaks to dreams of gentrification for the mahoning valley rather than the reality on the ground. i encourage you to visit the area first to see how destitute it is before you commit to moving. do be sure to keep your job in pennsylvania because it is not like there are any in youngstown.

I thought you gave up and left, 000000. Oh well...

indian_guy, if you do want to live within the city of Youngstown, I'd recommend living on the north side, as that will give you the shortest commute. But I don't know about apartments there, so I can't give advice on any good ones.

I thought Youngstown was a lot farther than locations in Trumbull Co. Have you ever been to Youngstown? Any particular reason you would rather live there vs. Sharon or Hermitage?
