Can someone please help me out with this. My husband is working in VA. He has recently been put on disability and we need to sell His Mercedes SLK 55 AMG imediatly. I have posted it on Craigslist, but need to find other free or low cost places to advertise.

I only have about 2 weeks to get this sold.

Does anyone have any ideas where else I can advertise?

Thank you so much for any advise you can give!

L

If you don't owe much on it, or don't owe more than it is worth, maybe it would be convenient to take it to Carmax. You could check out what they would give for it and then decide if you want to sell it to them. It won't be as much as a private sale, but it would save hassle.

Default Mercedes

Well, there is a problem there. There is another car identical to ours only more miles and they are asking $10,000 more than we are. We are asking only payoff on ours. My husband just purchased it in October.

Huh? You need to sell a car fast and are against getting more than payoff? Go to several dealerships and get a quote on what they will pay you.

I second Carmax. If you're looking to dump it, that'll be the place. Just beware-they won't give you anywhere close to what it's worth and they will end up making up fake problems with your car to offer you less. As long as you go in with eyes open you may not be disappointed.

First of all if your husband became disabled, the powers that be should give you more than two weeks to get this straightened out.

There must be message boards online for mercedes enthusiasts. Have you done a google search?

You can also list it on eBay, but of course if it sells there will be commission.

A few years ago we sold an Acura through cars.com. It sold quickly and we were happy with the price. Of course, things might not sell as quickly nowadays.

put in on ebay, it will sell fast there. you can do a very short auction there, why take a bath on it if you dont have to. save that carmax as the last option. also you might try some mercedes forums online, pple sell stuff via the car forums all the time to other members. pple are always looking for good deals there. look up whats its worth, state your situation and just say best offer. here is a link to one mercedes forum, they have a classified section there and its free. Mercedes Benz C Class E Class AMG News: Review, Preview. Owners, Repair, Wheels - MBWorld.org
this forum also has an mb section and for sale area.

you might also look at autotrader, its free to place an ad there i believe. also do some research on your rights, as he is now classified as disabled, there are organizations that are there to help the disabled. dont let them push you around.

good luck to you both.

Cars like these drop 1/2 price once they are driven off the lot. Plus, it's a car more for the ladies.
